Material contained within its structure small pores.
If the acid and phosphation processes are performed before galvanizing, the acidic solution may remain captured in these small pores. If the surface is not completely dry before the start of the galvanizing process, the acid can be captured under the zinc coating.
This captured acid could slowly leak and react chemically with a layer of zinc, leading to problems.
